Community Employment

What is the Community Employment Program?

Community Enterprises Community Employment Program partners with St. Clair County Community Mental Health and Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth/Rehabilitation Services to assist individuals with disability find and retain jobs with community employers.  Individuals’ skills and experiences are matched to employers’ specific needs.



Job Exploration and Assessments-
Opportunities are provided to visit and observe jobs and work.  Job seekers can even get paid while “trying out” a job for a week or two.



Work Readiness- 
Individuals can attend classes in which they will learn some of the “soft skills” needed to obtain employment and ensure success on the job.

Job Development and Placement Staff develop competitive employment opportunities  in a wide variety of employment sectors and include both part time or full time jobs at a minimum wage or more.



Job Coaching-
A trained coach may accompany the individual to the job site to help him or her learn the job and adapt to the new work place.
